Rhinoplasty

The nose is the most defining characteristic on the face. It should not be seen as a separate feature, but rather should blend proportionately into your face so that it does not detract from features such as the eyes and mouth. Even a slight variation in proportion or symmetry can detract from the beauty of these other features. Whether from traumatic injury or a familial trait, deformities of the nose are addressed by cosmetic rhinoplasty.

Expectations:

During your consultation at Viserage, you will have an in depth discussion with Dr. Stein regarding your goals and expectations. Although many improvements can be achieved with rhinoplasty, it is important to understand what is possible based on your particular attributes. Certain issues such as skin type and thickness can play a role in what results are achievable. Dr. Stein will use our Computer Imaging System to show you different modifications of your nose on a computer screen. The imager is a tool that helps Dr. Stein show you possible results so you can see what  the change might look like. Dr. Stein will spend a great deal of time in his initial discussion with you to ensure that you understand completely what is possible and that you have reasonable expectations. To find out what Dr. Stein's experience and artistry can do for you, make an appointment for a private consultation with Dr. Stein at Viserage Plastic Surgery Center, PLLC by calling us at 800-587-5670.

No other facial plastic surgery procedure requires as much understanding of facial balance, harmony and symmetry as cosmetic rhinoplasty. More than any other procedure, rhinoplasty is a sculpting process that relies on the skill of the surgeon and his understanding of the intricacies of the healing process in the nose. Dr. Stein has performed hundreds of rhinoplasty procedures and is well versed in dealing with even the most complicated revision cases.

Dr. Stein underwent fellowship training in facial plastic surgery and is double board certified in both Facial Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology/ Head and Neck Surgery (the specialty which deals with breathing problems in the nose). This gives him a unique combination of experience to deal with both the aesthetic and functional issues surrounding nasal surgery.

By carefully sculpting and reshaping the underlying structure of the nose, Dr Stein is able to create a more balanced and pleasing shape. Sometimes the affects are dramatic such as in the removal of a "hump" from the bridge of the nose. Often, however, the results he tries to achieve are much more subtle, such as in the careful contouring and refining of the tip of the nose. Occasionally, a significant change is required, such as when he performs a revision procedure to correct a severe deformity created by previous surgery. Sometimes a patient has a weak chin that accentuates how prominent their nose appears. In this case, Dr Stein performs a rhinoplasty in combination with a Chin Augmentation procedure to achieve facial harmony. The usual recovery time for rhinoplasty is seven days.
